The First Parent Community Organization sponsored Arts Enrichment assembly for the 2017-18 school year was held on for Friday, September 22nd.  Ooch (Brett Outchcunis) was back to perform his amazing yo-yo tricks and teach students positive life lessons.

DSC_0759Ooch met with students in Grades 5-8 to present “Talking, Listening, and Being” – Ooch discusses social skills like the importance of eye contact, a really firm handshake, and offered a fun illustration of personal space. As always, Ooch has an amazing way of engage our middle school students.  As you might expect, he also demonstrated lots of yo-yo tricks during his performance.
A little later in the morning students in grade K-4 saw “The Collection.” Oooch owns over 800 yo-yos and believes that yo-yo’s and friends are similar.   The only way to know how awesome a yo-yo is, is to give it a spin.  As it turns out, friends are the same way.  Students were invited to add new friends to their collection!
Many thanks to the PCO, especially the Arts Enrichment Committee for bringing Ooch back to visit with our students; as you might expect he is a crowd favorite here at BFCCPS.  Be sure to ask your students about today’s performance.  We invite you to learn more about Ooch and his message by visiting http://www.oochworld.com/schools.php
