BFCCPS Summer Camp Offerings
Summer 2017

The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School is pleased to announce the 2017 Summer Course Offerings! This years classes are offered by BFCCPS faculty and staff members and Susie Pallis from Drama Kids.

Course Descriptions:

The classes are divided by grade level and cover a multitude of topics across a variety of content areas. Classes will be held at BFCCPS’ main building as well as the Red Brick School. A class description, date and time is listed for each class. With the exception of private music lessons and tutoring, courses are $100 per week for a half day session and full day classes are $200.  Class descriptions and timing is included in thus guide —-> 2017 Summer Camps & Lessons 

Registration Information:

Registrations are on a first come, first serve basis. Please return the 2017 Summer Camp Registration Packet and tuition to the BFCCPS main office no later than June 10th.

If you are registering for classes from multiple teachers, please make sure to include one check per teacher. Once the registration form and tuition have been received by the teacher, they will send you a registration confirmation via kid mail and/or email. Classes will be canceled if a minimum registration is not achieved. All classes must be paid for at the time of registration. No refunds for classes will be processed after June 15th.  If a class does not run due to low enrollment you will be notified by June 15th.

Please note that the Ninja Warrior class with Mme. Canning has only one spot remaining.  If you were hoping to enroll in this class please send in your registration ASAP.  This last spot is first-come first serve. If you are unable to secure a spot in the class you can ask to be added to the waiting list. Please contact Mme. Canning with any questions.  

Please note that the grade levels listed are for the grade the student will be entering in the fall.

Private Instrumental Music Lessons with Mr. Heater, Mr. Bryant, and Ms. Lucas

The success of our band and music program relies on students continuing instrumental lessons during the summer vacation to further their personal growth and retention of instrumental musical skills and performance levels presented during the school year. This is also the perfect time for students to get one-on-one help with their Wind Ensemble or Symphonic Band auditions, which occur the first week of school in the Fall.

Summer Lessons will be on a one-on-one basis (student and teacher) on a 1/2 hour per week basis.  Mr. Heater’s lessons (brass) will be taught Monday through Thursday at the school between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Mr. Bryant’s lessons (woodwind) and Ms. Lucas’s lessons (percussion) will be held only one or two days per week, depending on student enrollment.  If any percussion or woodwind student is unable to attend the day(s) their teacher is available, they can still have a lesson on their instrument with Mr. Heater on another day.

The program will begin on Tuesday, July 3, 2017 and run for seven weeks ending August 18, 2017.  Vacations are not a problem; notification to the teacher of vacation weeks is all that is required.  Students will benefit with even a few lessons. The cost of the program is $20.00 per lesson, payable directly to the teacher on a weekly basis at the lesson time.

If interested in registering for the program, simply fill out the attached lesson form and return to Mr. Heater at school. The teachers will contact the individual students and parents to set up the schedule.
