Dear BFCCPS Community,

BFCCPS will resume hybrid in person learning for students who have previously been enrolled in hybrid learning starting on Monday, March 1st. Our in person teams have been reviewing safety protocols and preparing for students to return next week; we are incredibly excited to see them! As a reminder, BFCCPS students that were previously assigned to an in person cohort of Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday will attend school only on the days they were assigned to in person education when they were attending before Winter Break. Students enrolled in the Remote Academy will continue to attend remotely 5 days per week.

BFCCPS will rely on five key mitigation strategies to reduce risk of transmission of COVID-19 (mask use, social distancing, hand hygiene/respiratory etiquette, cleaning and disinfecting, contact tracing in collaboration with local board of health) As always, it is imperative that our community collaborate to make in person education as safe as possible for our students, faculty and staff.

We ask that everyone remains vigilant with respect to safety protocols and takes the responsibility of protecting all members of our community seriously. Ongoing communication whenever there has been a suspected COVID exposure or symptoms will be key to preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our community; we thank you for your continued cooperation.

In preparation for re-opening we have provided a checklist for families which includes:

Travel Policy

As a reminder, the Board of Trustees has implemented a new policy: Student Travel Under Mass Travel Order 45 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is important to recognize that in accordance with the Massachusetts Travel Order, and the BFCCPS Daily Attestation, any students, faculty or staff who are traveling outside of the U.S or to a state deemed high risk must quarantine for 10 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test result before returning to in-person education.
If your child has travelled out of state, please use this form to notify the BFCCPS Central office and BFCCPS Health Office.

Home Health Attestation

It is imperative that each student is screened every morning that they are attending in-person learning at BFCCPS before leaving for school. Please see the screening questions below that need to be asked by a parent or guardian each morning.
If you have not already completed the FamilyID Health Attestation form please ensure that is complete before Friday, February 26th. By signing the Attestation, you are agreeing that you will screen your child each day before leaving for school. This form only needs to be filled out one time, with the understanding that you will home screen your child daily and update us if at any point you answer yes to any of these questions in the future. Text alerts will be sent on the morning before each cohort (either Monday or Thursday) to remind you to conduct home screening using the questions below.
If you answer “YES” to any of these questions at any time, YOU MUST contact the BFCCPS Health Office at (508)528-1945 and should NOT send your child to school.

School Dismissal Manager

School Dismissal Manager provides us with an organized and efficient tracking system for tardy and absence notification as well as afternoon dismissals. You can quickly and easily update your students attendance and dismissal instructions using the easy-to-use mobile and desktop interface or School Dismissal Manager’s free Android and iPhone applications.
We ask all families to update their dismissal instructions using School Dismissal Manager prior to the start of your child’s hybrid return, so we can ensure we have accurate information on how your child(ren) should be sent home. Please login to set the default for your child’s dismissal method for the days that students are in person. We ask that you complete this task by no later than Friday, February 26th by noon.
Parents should use School Dismissal Manager to report student absences, notify us of early dismissals and any change to dismissal plans to ensure a safe dismissal each day. Daily plans for dismissal must be recorded by no later than 1:59pm to ensure a safe and accurate dismissal for all students on campus.

Pre-Registration for COVID-19 Testing at BFCCPS:

BFCCPS held a meeting for parents to learn more about new COVID testing initiatives and the roll out of the Family Survey. The slide show from Mrs. Barrow’s presentation can be found below which provides information for families about both the BinaxNOW Rapid Testing and Pooled Testing opportunities. The meeting was recorded and can be found here.
You will receive a letter with registration details for both the COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test and the Pooled Testing from our Health Office.
To see a brief demonstration of the Pooled Testing implementation please see this short video.
