BFCCPS will be providing a variety of home learning resources for families as well as social and emotional support for our students during our extended closure.
The general expectations for learning activities and communication have been created by grade bands Kindergarten through Grade 2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8 and can be found on this page of our website. Parents will hear from their child’s homeroom teacher every weekday.
BFCCPS will be providing these resources so that students have access to and opportunities for learning during our extended closure; students will not be penalized if they do not complete this work. Our goal is to make these activities authentic and also feasible for families to complete at home.
While the school is closed, the Counseling Services team will be available for support and checking email daily. We will be sending out weekly emails with helpful hints or activities for your children.
Our Food Service Coordinator is maintaining a list of area food pantries and restaurants in the area that are providing free meals to children with no questions asked. Please keep in mind that restaurant services are subject to change in compliance with government requirements. Currently most food pantries are operating outside of regular business hours to accommodate the current situation. We strongly suggest calling ahead to verify operating hours. Please check this page for more information.
We will also be recording daily announcements for our students in the days to come; this is a comforting daily routine – there will be riddle of the days, weather, and more. A new recording will be added each day to this folder. We hope you enjoy them!
You will also find a variety of videos where various members of the BFCCPS faculty and staff will read a book to students while we are on this extended break; be sure to visit this folder; in the days ahead as this collection will be growing.
We will be in communication with you throughout this closure to support our families to the very best of our ability with additional resources as they are made available. May our shared values of Prudence, Fortitude, Temperance and Justice serve us all in the days ahead.
Take care of each-other and stay optimistic BFCCPS.
