Students in Mrs. Janine Bartch’s fifth grade social studies class began working with a new type of online presentation, called Prezi. Prezi presentations are perfect for interactive classroom sessions and group projects, allowing students to collaborate in real-time. Over the past week, working in small groups of three, students used Google Chromebooks to do research and complete their Prezi presentations. Just a few topics they selected were the American Revolution, the Boston Tea Party, Battle of Bunker Hill, and the Battles of Saratoga. Presenters answered questions from the peers afterwards.
Prezi’s zooming canvas opens up the classroom to active learning and interactivity, making lessons understandable, memorable, and fun! Students are just beginning to explore this wonderful presentation tool, an innovative way for students to “show what they know.”
