Dear Kindergarten and Grade One Parents,

Our teams have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to prepare for the start of Hybrid Learning for students in Kindergarten and Grade One as Phase Two of our reopening plan. We have prepared a slideshow with details related to health and safety precautions, logistical considerations for things like lunch and recess and movement breaks.

It is of primary importance that all members of our community recognize their shared responsibility to keep the community safe. It is absolutely critical that all families do their part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We have implemented a health attestation form via FamilyID, and it is imperative that each student is screened every morning that they are attending in-person learning at BFCCPS before leaving for school. This form only needs to be filled out one time, with the understanding that you will home screen your child daily and update us if at any point you answer yes to any of these questions in the future.

We recognize that this is an enormous amount of information for families, but wanted to be sure that you had a complete understanding of the policies and procedures surrounding a return to in person education.

Our Kindergarten and Grade One teachers have had similar training regarding hybrid learning, and should be able to answer any questions that you might have following a complete review of this slideshow.

We look forward to seeing your students for their meet and greets over the next few days to prepare for their first day of hybrid learning. We thank you in advance for your support as we move into the next phase of our school’s re-opening.

Be kind Ben Franklin,

Heather Zolnowski
