Bus routes for the town of Franklin for the 2019-2020 school year have been posted on the FPS Transportation Website and are available here. In preparation for the first day of school; please be sure to review the most up to date BFCCPS Regional Bus Routes linked below. Please note that since the original posted list that routes have been modified (some stops were added, some stops were moved and an entire new route was added on the way home.)
Regional Bus information will be shared with registered riders the week before they are scheduled for their hybrid return to in person education.
The timing on the first few days of the bus routes can be in flux as drivers and students adjust to the new schedules. We ask you to be at the bus stop at least 7-10 minutes before the planned stop.
The following are instructions when parking in the lots while waiting for the bus for BFCCPS.
*Please note, children are to stay close to parents and not roam in the parking lot. Playing with balls or playing tag are not allowed. Please walk your child to the door of the bus once it has stopped. Food of any kind is not allowed on the bus, as many students have allergies.
Bellingham, Girls Softball lot on High Street:
Park in the lot and walk your child to the street and stay with them until they board the bus.
Big Lots parking lot:
Drive straight into the parking lot and park in the spots PAST the propane tanks. Park against the fence and near the trees.
Bottom of Fox Run:
Parallel park along the road near the trail. Children are to stay close to the parents and are not allowed to play ball or tag. Please walk your child to the bus.
Home Depot parking lot:
Park in front of Toy’s R Us in the parking spots along the trees and bushes. Please walk your child to the bus.
Job Lot parking lot:
Park in the spaces along 109 close to Bank of America. The bus will not go into the lot. Please walk your child to the bus.
Kohl’s parking lot:
When first entering the parking lot off of Route 109, go to the right and park in the spots along the road. Please walk your child to the bus.
Nona’s Pizza parking lot:
Park in the spots in the lot close and along Hartford Avenue. Please walk your child to the bus.
Primavera parking lot:
Park in the spots furthest away from the restaurant; park in the spots near the fence. The bus does not come into this lot so you need to walk to the road.

School Dismissal Manger
We are using School Dismissal Manager to automate dismissal changes and absence notification. We have used School Dismissal Manager for the last two years and have been very pleased with the results.
Due to the nature of our attendance this year, we are asking parents/guardians of students to fill in their dismissal information just in advance of their phased in return.
At this time, this information is requested only for students in Kindergarten through Grade Three who are attending in a hybrid format, as well as any students who are attending for in-person Critical Needs services.
Students riding the Franklin Bus should visit this page to find their bus route and stop information. Students registered for the Regional Bus have been emailed their route and stop information from Mrs. Schwab. Please contact Mrs. Schwab at firstname.lastname@example.org with any transportation related questions.
You should provide default dismissal information for your child’s dismissal method for the days that students are in person. Please save this information for future reference as students who are in future hybrid return waves will need to update their accounts by no later than 48 hours in advance of their hybrid return to school. You will receive an alert message via SchoolBrains when it is time to update this information.
We have assigned your child an ”Unassigned” dismissal which is just a placeholder to monitor which accounts have been updated and which have not. Once you login, you will see ”Parent Preferences and Student Default” in the top Menu, you can click on this and change your child’s default dismissal instruction within the settings. If you only see ”Parent Preferences”, call the school office and we will make the change for you.
When creating an exception for the current day, please note that the cut-off time is 1:59 on regular days and 10:59 on early release days. In order to ensure an accurate and safe dismissal, it is our expectation that all changes are made on the system before the daily deadline. In the event of an extreme emergency you can contact the school office after the deadline to make any changes for the current day.
Here are a few Fast Facts that you will need to know for getting started:
- New users have been issued a username and temporary password at the top of this email. Please use these to login to SDM at www.schooldismissalmanager.com.
- The Parent Login area is found at the top right of the SDM homepage.
- When you login for the first time, you will be required to change your password immediately.
- Please refer to the Parent Guide for Creating Exceptions for details on how to use the system.
