Here at BFCCPS, we strive to assist parents in their role as the Primary Educator of their children. As such, I wanted to highlight an important way that information is available to you, our ongoing Pillar Nights.
Pillar Night: Title I Math & Literacy Night
When: October 17, 7:00-8:00 PM
Where: BFCCPS Common
What: Come learn about our Title I Targeted Assistance programming in math and literacy including how students qualify for support, how that support is structured, and how you can support your child with math and literacy at home. There will be a short informational presentation followed by time to circulate through the Common where you will have an opportunity to meet our math and reading specialists so that they can support you in your role as primary educator using meaningful, authentic, and engaging strategies.
Who: This event is open to the entire community; however, specific invitations will be sent in the next week to those whose children qualify for Title I services. Please RSVP by clicking this link if you intend to join us.
Please note that FamilyID Assistance will be available from 6:30 to 7pm in the school library just before the Title 1 Pillar Night.
If you weren’t able to join us for the Title 1 Math and Literacy Night, you can review the slide deck here: Title I Night 2019
Pillar Night: More than Sad
November 7 at 7pm
BFCCPS is hosting a Parent Pillar Night titled “More than Sad” from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in the BFCCPS Learning Commons. “Intended for teens, parents, and educators, this film teaches students about depression, demystifies treatment, and encourages students who are struggling to seek help.” (AFSP)
