The mission of the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is to support children with special needs and their families. To attain this goal, the SEPAC promotes a network for parents of children with special needs and provides a forum to share information and discuss matters of concern and interest for children with special needs. We also advise the Director of Student Services and our Board of Trustees on the operation and development of special education programs.
We promote communication between our community as well as local, state and national organizations that support children with special needs. We promote communication and programs within the community to encourage understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of children with special needs and we provide informational forums for parents, educators, students, and professionals involved with children with special needs.
For the 2018-2019 school year, the SEPAC co-leaders will be Susan Littlefield and Lydia Kirchthurn. Questions or comments can be emailed directly to email@example.com.
BFCCPS is in the process of establishing an English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC). The ELPAC will promote a network for parents of English Learners and provide a forum to share information and discuss matters of concern and interest for English Learners. The ELPAC will also advise the Director of Student Services and our Board of Trustees on the operation and development of English Learner programs. Finally, the ELPAC will work with the school to celebrate the many cultures and languages represented at BFCCPS, and to recognize bilingualism and multilingualism as enormous assets.
The first ELPAC meeting will be held in September of 2018, to create a governing structure, and establish bylaws. An annual ELPAC meeting will also be held each spring. Additional meetings and/or events will be scheduled at the ELPAC’s discretion.
