General Health Precautions
The following General Health Precautions are recommended by the Massachusetts DPH
- Protect yourself by following public health advice about keeping your hands clean, and covering coughs
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Protect others who are most at risk of COVID-19 by keeping your distance from people (at least 6 feet
away from others), especially those who are older, and people living with chronic health conditions.
- If you are outside, avoid crowds.
- Don’t shake hands or hug.
- Stay connected to friends and loved ones by phone or through other technology.
Maintain social distancing as a strategy to blunt the spread and severity of COVID-19 in the community.
BFCCPS In Person Guidelines
Parents and families expected to be familiar with the following symptoms and exposure guidelines of COVID-19 and must agree to monitor their students each day prior to their arrival to the school or riding a school bus.
There will be NO entry to the building for any student that falls under any of the following scenarios:
- Experienced any of the following NEW symptoms in the previous 48 hrs:
- Fever >100.0, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste/smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. (Parents are encouraged to take their child’s temperature each morning. Temperature checks will not be taken at arrival.)
- If they have knowingly been in close contact (within the past 14 days) with any person who is known to have laboratory-confirmed COVID-19, or with anyone who has symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
- If they have had recent travel that mandates quarantine under the MA COVID-19 Travel Order or under the CDC COVID-19 travel guidance.
- If they have been tested for COVID-19 for any reason and are awaiting test results.
Face mask/face coverings are required for all students and staff
It must have ear loops
Neck Gaiters, Bandanas, Scarves, and masks/face coverings that secure with ties around the head will NOT be permitted at BFCCPS for staff or students.
Your child’s mask/face covering should extend from the middle of the bridge of their nose and ending below their chin. The perimeter of the mask should fit snug to their face
We will require all students to have a backup of three masks at the school for each student.
We will swap out a mask that has become moist or soiled during the day with a backup mask from the student’s personal supply. The soiled mask will be sent home to be cleaned.
Reusable masks should be washed after each use, a fresh clean mask should be worn to school each day.

BFCCPS Health Office Monitoring
We sincerely ask that families report any respiratory symptoms with fevers, experienced by their students or household members, to our health office. Although we are not able to give medical advice or guidance, a school nurse will be available by email & phone to receive your health reports. A nurse will be accessible by phone daily between the hours of 12:00pm and 2:00pm if outside those hours please leave a message. We appreciate your cooperation and collaboration with this request, as it will best help us track the health status of our BFCCPS community.

What Can I Do Every Day to Help Reduce Stress and Anxiety?
Individuals can help manage their stress at this uncertain time.
The following wellness tips are advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
- Connect with friends and family
- Tell them how you are feeling. Practice physical distancing while staying social virtually!
- Take time to unwind and do activities that you enjoy.
- Get moving
- Take walks, work out at home, and stretch. Try something new!
- Take care of your body, eat healthy, get some physical activity, and enough sleep. Deep breathing, stretching and meditating helps.
- Eat healthy
- Get plenty of fruits and vegetables (frozen options are great!) and watch your portion sizes. Avoid drugs and alcohol.
- Plan time for enjoyable activities
- Get creative! Avoid consuming too much media coverage, including social media.
