Dear BFCCPS Community,

Last year, as we were planning to move from 201 Main Street to our new facility, I held meetings for the students to talk about expansion, what would change, and what would stay the same. In each of those meetings we discussed that while the physical location of school was changing, that our community would remain the same. We would still be the same BFCCPS. A little over a year later, this sentiment remains the same. While our building may be closed, we are still the same community, we are still here for you and always will be.
This year, BFCCPS celebrates its 25 year anniversary. Our school opened as one of only 13 Charter Public Schools, we were truly pioneers in education reform in Massachusetts. Innovation and creativity are our gifts, and now more than ever, we stand by you as the primary educator of your children. Working together we aim to provide learning opportunities to provide structure to your children’s days and to inspire a continued love of learning. This crisis provides us all regular opportunities to practice prudence, fortitude, temperance and justice. Caring for our community, and our neighbors has never been more important. We know that yesterday’s announcement was challenging for parents and students. Please know that it was difficult for all of us too. In the days to come, we will be working on plans for things like our Grade 8 Graduation, report cards and step up days.
Later today you will receive a survey for you to provide feedback on Remote Learning to date. We’ll also have an opportunity for you to provide any questions for our administrative team.
Thanks for your continued patience and cooperation, and be safe.
Mr. Perna
