We have many Capstone Projects running during the month of October. We hope you will review the following service projects, perhaps a few will stand out for your family. Our 8th Graders and their parents greatly appreciate your support!

    Aakriti R. will be raising money for Clean Water in Kenya and will be holding a Movie Night on Friday, October 16th. Come see Finding Nemo  from 5:30 to 7 pm.  Concessions and a raffle to benefit Josh A’s Capstone will also be available. We hope to see you there!

    A jar will be filled with shells and displayed in the office from October 5 through October 23rd for Max O’s Capstone project to save the Coral Reefs. For 50 cents you can make a guess as to how may there are and enter to win a great reef gift basket.


    Shoyaib S. is having a drive to collect non-perishable food and gently used/new clothing for the Medway House. Donation bins will be available beginning on October 5th. Learn more about the needed items on the flyer below:

    Medway House Flyer Michael ONolan O. will raffle off a signed Zdeno Chara Bruins Jersey from Wednesday, October 7th through Thursday, October 22nd.  The proceeds will go towards the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston.

    Leanne J. will hold an eyeglasses drive to benefit the Bellingham Lions Club from October 13 through October 23rd.

    Madelyn W. will be holding a donation drive for new/used softball equipment for her Capstone project. Donations of gloves, facemasks, softballs and helmets are welcome.  The donation bins will be located in Mr. Callahan’s room from October 19th through October 23rd.

    Did you know the Franklin Public Library is your Window to the World?   For her Capstone Project Laura M. invites you to Come to the Library on Thursday, October 22, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and sign up for your own library card. Did you know with your library card you have access to a world of digital books, magazines, movies, and sample entrance exams for private High Schools? Please visit the Franklin Public Library on October 22, for some pizza and cake and come see a demonstration on how to explore your own personal digital world with your library card!  I have mine do you?

    Bridget J. will be holding an electronic recycling day on October 24th from 8 am to 1pm at 600 Central Street in Holliston. She will use her proceeds to create care packages for soldiers. You can find the price list for various items here

    Join John D. at the Medway Cafe, in support of the Medway Village Church Food Pantry for a dine out event on Monday & Tuesday, October 26 & 27, 2015 for either Lunch or Dinner, valid for both dine in, or take out.  You must print and present the following certificate at the time of payment to have 10% of your check’s value, excluding tax and tip, donated to the Medway Village Church Food Pantry. A donation bin will be available, needed items are as follows: shampoo, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, canned goods, boxed goods, jelly, tomato sauce, chicken soup, boxed milk, spaghetti sauce, Chef Boyardee. Thank you!

    Saket G. will be focusing on homelessness for his Capstone Project and will be holding a canned food drive from October 26 through November 4th.

    Justin F. will be holding a Linen Drive to benefit My Brother’s Keeper, this organization helps people in poverty by collecting furniture, food and other home goods.  He is collecting linens in a purple bin next to the trophy case in the modular. The linens include queen, full and twin sheet sets, comforters and bed spreads, blankets, towels, and throw pillows.  You can also donate furniture including end tables, coffee tables, dining sets, sofas and chairs.  All items must be in very good to excellent condition.  You will find a purple bin next to the trophy case between 10/26 and 10/30.     Nolan O. will hold a Hot Chocolate Sale to raise benefit the Rheumatoid Arthritis department at the Floating Hospital for Children from Friday, October 23rd through Tuesday October 27th. Hot chocolate will be $1.00 for hot chocolate and an additional .25 each for any toppings you would like to add.

    Michael O. will hold a donation drive to benefit NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans from 11/2 – 11/6.  Bins will be available in the Modular near the Trophy Cabinet,  on the 2nd Floor, and near the larger cafeteria upstairs. More details on the flyer below:
