The National French Contest or “Le Grand Concours” is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational background for prizes. Grades 1-6 participate in the FLES Contest (French Language in Elementary School). This is different from “Le Grand Concours” in Grades 7 and 8. It is with great pleasure to announce that nine of our Grade 6 students made it to the speaking Final.

The finalists representing the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School are:

– Charlotte A.
– Andrew B.
– Shraddha I.
– Avery K.
– Sophie K.
– Katherine M.
– Samiha R.
– Amanda T.
– Brinda V.

These nine students will take a speaking final next week and this will be sent away to Virginia and it will determine their placing in the overall FLES Contest. The final result will come out at the end of April. Bonne Chance!
