We visited the site on Friday March 1st and have lots of new photos to share. You will see lots of interior progress since our last two weeks ago.  We will continue to share updates on the building every other week moving forward.

Director of Human Resources:

We are so pleased to welcome Kathy Lacana who has joined BFCCPS as our Director of Human Resources to support the Human Resources needs of our staff and faculty.  She will also be responsible for the implementation of our staffing plan for the 2019-2020 school year in close coordination with our administrative team.

“I am very happy to join the BFCCPS community! Throughout my interview process, I was impressed with the warmth and enthusiasm expressed by everyone I met. It seems like an exciting time to join the school as it heads toward expansion, and I hope to be a support to all of you through that transition. In the coming months, I want to learn from all of you what it looks like to be an employee here, since one of my first projects is to hire many new faculty and staff for the 2019-2020 school year.

A bit about me- I am an HR professional with 18 years of experience. I spent most of my career at Boston Children’s Museum, so I am thrilled to continue on supporting an organization that is focused on children and their education and development. I attended Rutgers University in New Jersey and graduated with a BA in Psychology.

I am originally from Walpole and now live in Norfolk with my husband Mark, our daughter Macy (7) and our son Shea (5). We share our home with our Scottie/Poodle mix, Mischa and 2 cats, Kyle and Khloe. Photography is a favorite hobby of mine, much to the dismay of my children!

As Heather mentioned, you can find me off the side of the stage, where I have been impressed with the students’ musical talents! Please stop by to say hello. You can also feel free to email me if you have any questions or would like to find a time to meet. I look forward to working with all of you.”

Calling all Talents and Services!  BFCCPS Parents do you have a special talent that you’d be willing to donate as an auction item? For example, singers, musicians, photographers? What about service providers like makeup artists, hairstylists, accountants, tax services. Shonna Gaul and her team would LOVE you to consider donating your services as an auction item. I know so many of you have personal gifts that would be fabulous auction items. AND it’s a great way to advertise your services for hire to our awesome community!

The Gala Committee is also looking for interested volunteers to help gather items for the auction between now and April 1st, we would love to have you on the team!
