The 2017 French Week Celebration kicked off on Monday Morning with the French Market. Parents of Seventh Grade students provided items for sale and all students and staff were invited to shop for mini Eiffel Towers, Berets, Smencils, beautiful crochet scarves and more.

The French Market also offered free temporary tatoos and a photo booth for students. What a delightful way to kick off the week!

Many thanks to all of the Grade 7 parents for their contributions to the market.  An especially hearty thanks to all parents who sent in students with money to shop, the proceeds from the French Market benefit the upcoming overnight field trip to Quebec.  If your students missed the French Market remaining items will be for sale during the 7th Grade Pie Fundraiser Pickup on Thursday between 12:30 and 4pm.

On Tuesday, thanks to the BFCCPS Parent Community Organization students in Grades K-8 had a visit from Franco-American singer Josee Vachon.  A number of our 8th grade students accompanied Josee playing the spoons; so don’t be surprised if you find your children practicing their “spoon playing” skills at home.

It was so refreshing to see students of all ages singing along.  Through their years of French education and previous visits with Josee Vachon there were many songs that were familiar to our students!

Many thanks to the PCO for coordinating this exciting visit for our students and to the lovely Josee Vachon, thank you for coming to visit us again this year.
