Mrs. Sette’s first graders were introduced to blogging this week with Kidblog.com. Using iPads to access the Kidblog app, students responded to their teacher’s post asking her class to tell what they liked about first grade so far. This simple act was the first step in a year-long journey in becoming blogging veterans, publishing their written word for an audience of fellow students & teachers, family, and potentially beyond.

A big part of the first grade Common Core Standards in Literacy is using a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers with guidance and support. Student writing through a blog succinctly captures these new standards.
