What went on in room three this week?
(Nov. 13 - 16)

Bonjour!  French week is always exciting.  We enjoyed so many festivities this week.  We also had a cold walk but a great visit to the Senior Center.  We made cards for the recipients of the gift cards we collected.  We collected a total of $475!  Thank you all for supporting this cause!

In reading we read expository text about animals and their offspring.  We worked with plural nouns, linking words (and, but, so, therefore, etc.), and how to write addresses properly.  Please remind your child to read throughout next week!

In math we learned how to add two-digit addends together by creating proof drawings and using the Show All Totals method.  We will continue to practice these approaches when we return from Thanksgiving break as well as learn the New Groups Above and the New Groups Below methods.

Mrs. Heroux was our mystery reader last week (that was a huge hit!) and she read a Pig the Pug story and a Penguin story.  The boys and girls enjoyed her visit and both stories!

I will not update this website until Friday, Nov. 30th.  Please remember to view your child’s report card before we meet next week for parent/teacher conferences.  I look forward to chatting with you during these conferences.  I also hope you enjoy the time off from school and get to spend time with family and friends next week.
