Dear Families,

We had a great week in Room 112!

In Wonders we answered essential question "Who is in your family?" and talked about the many activities and places we like to go with our families.  We practiced identifying letters Aa through Rr (concentrating on letter identification, not sounds), and added sight word "can" to our word wall.  We practiced all five learning center activities that students will participate in while I am meeting with small reading groups; these centers are word work (making words with wikki stix, play doh, etc.), writing in our journals, playing literacy games on our ipads, art activities, and practicing reading.

In handwriting we continued to practice how to hold a pencil correctly and learned how to form circular lines.

We began our math curriculum, Eureka this week and practiced making matches, identifying items that are similar in some ways and different in others, and sorting into groups by various attributes.

We read the story "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" and talked about the many ways we can be kind towards others.

We are enjoying getting to know each other!

Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or comments at anytime (

Have a great weekend!
