Melissa is a transplant from the rural hill towns of western Massachusetts, and loves to instill her reverence for nature and wildlife into her teaching practice. She is firmly committed to using both inquiry-based and project-based methods in order to encourage scientists to access their own innate curiosity, collaboration skills, and passion for learning. This can be seen in the laboratory setting through hands-on investigations, science fair projects, and long-term outdoor projects. She is eager to share her love for science, learning, and the outdoors with the young scientists this year, in whatever manner is possible!
