For a very long time in my childhood, I wanted to be an engineer, but I had a realization in high school that teaching was my calling. I grew up attending Franklin Public Schools and actually attended Girl Scouts meetings at the old BFCCPS (what a change the new building is!). Growing up, I also had many jobs involving children- including babysitting, summer camp counselor, tennis instructor, swim instructor, and birthday party hostess. I went to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in education. I also received a minor in Spanish. While attending UMass Amherst, I was heavily involved in the Marching Band as a flute and piccolo player.
I started my teaching career in Springfield Public Schools, where I taught 5th grade English Language Arts, 4th/5th grade special education, and 3rd grade math and science. I came to BFCCPS from the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District where I taught 4th grade English Language Arts and social studies.
I currently live in Franklin with my family. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking/baking, catching up with family and friends, CrossFit, games, and outdoor activities of all kinds.
