Coding (computer programming) is not only about creating a game or the next million dollar app, but also about problem solving and logical thinking. From their website, "Code.org® is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color."

From their homepage, click on "Students" and then select a course (we did the "Hour of Code for All Ages" found near the bottom). Students can sign up, with parent permission & assistance to track their progress in the courses, but it is OPTIONAL.
