On February 1st, author Mark Peter Hughes, who wrote the teen novel and Boston Authors Club Award Finalist “Lemonade Mouth“, gave a pair of excellent presentations to our fourth through eighth grade students. The hands-on workshops provided practical writing strategies that support our curriculum in a creative, easygoing atmosphere. During both presentations, students were thoroughly entertained and engaged.

In between writing workshops, Mr. Hughes was gracious enough to speak with our student newspaper writers from “The Flash” to answer questions on life as an author. Our Flash contributors posed excellent questions and Mr. Hughes gave insightful and witty responses, repeating the importance of writing and the profound effect it can have on your life. Afterwards, students raved at the amazing opportunity and were grateful for the experience!

Before Mr. Hughes left, he signed and donated hardcover books from his four best sellers to the library, including Lemonade Mouth, A Crack in the Sky, I am Wallpaper and Lemonade Mouth Puckers Up.
