A number of our Grade Eight students are holding donation drives or after school activities as part of their Capstone Projects.  If you aren’t familiar with Capstone, you can learn more here on the school website.  We hope that our families in Grades Kindergarten through Grade 7 will learn more about the various Capstone Projects which are currently underway and perhaps select a project or two that they might like to support.
Please note: Any students in Grade Eight who would like to post an announcement in the Ben’s Buzz or the Capstone Corner Blog should complete a Blue Sheet in the front office and submit an announcement to Mr. Perna and Mrs. Basile.

This will only be for the 5th and 6th grade students and will teach students about drug abuse and why you should not use drugs.  There will be a School Resource Officer from the Town of Franklin coming in to pilot the program.
Saiteja T. in Grade 8 will be holding a donation drive for at-risk kids.  He is looking for lightly used winter gear.  It lasts from November 1st through November 15. Please make sure to donate, the bins will be located near the Trophy Case.
Vagmi K. and Bella P. will be holding a donation drive 11/14- 11/18. Vagmi is working with The Floating Hospital and Bella is working with The Medway House.   Tufts (The Floating Hospital) is a teaching hospital that works with both kids and adults. Vagmi visited the hospital and her contact Andrea said that the kids wanted more movies to watch to entertain themselves. She will be collecting DVDs, markers, colored pencils, and crayons for the drive.  Bella is donating books for the Medway house for the same reason. The women there are getting bored and her contact also wanted the books to entertain the people. Sitting around in a place with very few options for entertainment is hard and this is why we are asking you to donate these things. Even one donation would be very helpful. The girls would really appreciate anything that you give to support their projects.
In this video, you will learn what to do (and what NOT to do) when you see a service dog.  This video is part of Jack B’s Capstone Project supporting BASK (Balance and Service K9’s). It is important to watch this video if you’ve never seen a service dog or if you have little kids. Thanks for watching:
