Students in Grades 5 – 8 assembled for the first assembly of the school year on September 8th to hear speeches from their fellow classmates who are running for the BFCCPS Student Council.  Four offices are currently up for election: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Public Relations Director.  Elections will be held via an online ballot box starting at lunchtime on Friday and open through Monday end of day.  The results will be announced on Tuesday.

The Student Council gives a voice to students in the school and is supervised by Mrs. Kovacs and Mr. Duque.  This is a wonderful way to promote student involvement! We look forward to the inspiration that this group will provide during the 2017-2018 school year. You can click here for a peek at photos from the speeches.

Elections for homeroom representatives will take place next week.  Any students that are  interested in running for Homeroom Representative should send a paragraph explaining why they would be a good representative for their homeroom to Mr. Duque and Mrs. Kovacs.  Do not include your name in the paragraph, your it should be anonymous. These paragraphs are due by Wednesday end of day and elections will be held on Friday, September 15th. (Note: Since Grade Six will be at Nature’s Classroom, they will be given a voting extension for their homeroom reps.)

Best wishes to all of the candidates!
