The Board of Trustees is comprised of 11 elected officials and a representative from the BFCCPS Faculty and Staff, who bring a variety of experiences and skills to their work in benefit of our school. The following are brief biographies and contact information for each board member.
Typically, the Board of Trustees meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00PM unless otherwise noted. Meeting agendas are posted in advance of the meetings and are on our Board of Trustees page.

Eric Scansen, President
Eric and his wife Gianna have lived in Medway since 2011. They have a son, Lucca, entering 3rd grade, and a daughter, Clara, entering kindergarten, in Fall 2018 at BFCCPS. Eric volunteered on the BFCCPS Governance and Facilities Committees during the 2015-2017 school years and became a member of the Board in July 2017. After graduating from Western Washington University with a BS in Chemistry, Eric supervised radioactive waste clean-up efforts at Superfund sites in Denver and St. Louis. He currently leverages 17 years of experience in program management for the US Department of Defense to oversee Navy Medical Research & Development Programs for Leidos, a defense contracting firm.

Neerav Jain, Treasurer
Neerav and his wife Sandhya have lived in Franklin since 2010. They have two children, Anushkaa and Aayush. Anushkaa started as a kindergartner at BFCCPS in 2013 and Aayush will be following her in the Fall of 2017.
Neerav is currently a Consultant, Product Analysis at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he has worked for the past 14 years. Neerav received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Delhi University, and migrated to the US to pursue an MBA in Finance from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Beth O’Toole, Trustee
Beth and her husband Tim have been a part of the BFCCPS community since 2012 when their oldest son Patrick entered Kindergarten. Brothers Colin and Liam happily joined the BFCCPS family in the subsequent years. Beth has been a member of the Board since 2015 and has served on both the Finance and HR committees.
Professionally, Beth is Director of Tax Accounting and Compliance Services at GagnonTax, a regional consulting firm in Boston. She’s an alumnae of UMass Amherst as well as Bentley University. In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
Jason Davis, Trustee
Jason Davis has lived in Franklin since 2005, and has been married to his wife Amy since 2011. He has two older daughters who went through the Franklin school system, and their daughter Audrey is starting BFCCPS in kindergarten this year. Jason holds a BA in computer science from Harvard University and an MS from the University of Texas at Austin. He co-founded a computer game company in the 90’s, and he has worked in industrial machine vision at Cognex in Natick since 2000. In his spare time he started a small business to design board games for kids and adults, plus he keeps thinking he’ll get into archery soon.
Jason Fine, Trustee
Jason and his wife Jennifer have lived in Franklin since 2011 and joined the BFCCPS community in 2012 when their son Brody entered kindergarten. In addition to Brody, their younger son Wyatt joined the BFCCPS family in the Fall of 2016 as a kindergartener. After receiving a BS degree in American Labor History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Jason spent the first part of his career in the accounting & finance field before transitioning into human resources in 2000. Charlene and her husband Bob Collins live in Wrentham MA and joined the BFCCPS community in 2016 when their son Logan enrolled in kindergarten. She holds a BA in English and Psychology from Merrimack College, but her career path led her to the Department of Population Medicine (HMS) at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute where she spent 10+ years in project management of pediatric health services and epidemiologic research projects, as well as decision analytic programming. Charlene is currently the Business Operations Administrator in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, responsible for financial management and administrative policy/procedural development. April Grudier, Trustee
April and her husband Patrick have lived in Bellingham, MA since 2011. Their son Benjamin will be entering 2nd grade in the Fall of 2019. After graduating from Regis College in Weston, MA with a BA in English and Secondary Education, April held marketing leadership positions at BJ’s Wholesale Club, Staples, Inc, and most recently served as Vice President of Brand Marketing at TSYS. Currently April is leading Global Partnership Strategy for BlueSnap, a payment technology company in Waltham, MA. Prior to joining the Board of Trustees, April was a long-time volunteer for the Read-to-A-Child program.

Deirdre and her husband Steve have lived in Bellingham since 2009. They have two children, with the older entering BFCCPS as a kindergartner in the fall of 2019. Deirdre has previously served as a volunteer on the Boards of the Medway Community Farm and Growing Places Garden Project, and has led committees including strategic planning, fundraising, governance, and finance. Professionally Deirdre works in non-profit management, currently as Senior Director of Operations at Gateways: Access to Jewish Education, which seeks to ensure that Jewish children with diverse learning needs are able to succeed in Jewish educational settings and participate meaningfully in Jewish life. Deirdre holds a Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Race and Ethnic Relations, both from Clark University.
David Nee, Trustee
Dave and his wife Leah have resided in Franklin since 2013. They joined the BFCCPS family in 2018 when their son Cade entered kindergarten. In addition to Cade, their eldest son Cole will be joining the 5 th grade class this year. Their youngest son, Dylan is a few years away from joining his brothers at BFCCPS. Dave holds a BA in Criminology & Law from Suffolk University. After a brief career in law enforcement he transitioned into sales and currently works for Assa Abloy providing door security solutions for his clients. He also is a Security Supervisor for the Boston Red Sox. In his spare time, Dave enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team and trips to Disney with his family. Anne Marie Palmer, Trustee
Anne Marie is the Faculty Representative on the Board of Trustees. Anne Marie joined the BFCCPS faculty as a 3rd grade teacher in August of 2011, and became the Faculty Representative on the Board of Trustees in February of 2016. She has many years of teaching experience in grades K-5, and is very happy now teaching at BFCCPS. Residing in Mansfield, she has two college-attending daughters, as well as two dogs to keep her busy. In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, reading, and relaxing at the beach.

Lawrence Shum, Trustee
Lawrence and his wife, Cindy, have lived in Franklin since 2007. They have a daughter, Zoe, who will be entering 1st grade at the BFCCPS in the fall of 2017 and a son, Zachary, who will be starting in the fall of 2019. Lawrence volunteered in the BFCCPS Governance committee before becoming a Board of Trustee in 2018.
Lawrence graduated with a BA in chemistry from Boston University and received his MBA from Boston College. He’s currently working as a senior chemist at Liberty Mutual Insurance at Hopkinton, MA.
