The Board of Trustees is comprised of 11 elected officials and a representative from the BFCCPS Faculty and Staff, who bring a variety of experiences and skills to their work in benefit of our school. The following are brief biographies and contact information for each board member.

Typically, the Board of Trustees meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00PM unless otherwise noted. Meeting agendas are posted in advance of the meetings and are on our Board of Trustees page.

The BFCCPS Board of Trustees:

Edward Basile, President 

Ted and his wife Joanne have lived in Franklin since 2001. Their two sons, Jack and Sam, both started at BFCCPS in kindergarten, starting in 2007.   In addition to serving on the Board of Trustees, Ted was actively involved in the Franklin Youth Soccer Association for six years.

Professionally, Ted has worked at EMC and SAP with roles in marketing, alliances and corporate development.  He graduated from Bentley University with a B.S. in Marketing and Communications.

In his spare time, Ted enjoys planning family adventures, triathlons, cycling, videography, and exposing his boys to the diversities of new cultures and foreign destinations.

Eric Scansen, Vice President 

Eric and his wife Gianna have lived in Medway since 2011. They have a son, Lucca, entering 3rd grade, and a daughter, Clara, entering kindergarten, in Fall 2018 at BFCCPS. Eric volunteered on the BFCCPS Governance and Facilities Committees during the 2015-2017 school years and became a member of the Board in July 2017. After graduating from Western Washington University with a BS in Chemistry, Eric supervised radioactive waste clean-up efforts at Superfund sites in Denver and St. Louis. He currently leverages 17 years of experience in program management for the US Department of Defense to oversee Navy Medical Research & Development Programs for Leidos, a defense contracting firm.

Neerav Jain, Treasurer 

Neerav and his wife Sandhya have lived in Franklin since 2010. They have two children, Anushkaa and Aayush. Anushkaa started as a kindergartner at BFCCPS in 2013 and Aayush will be following her in the Fall of 2017.

Neerav is currently a Consultant, Product Analysis at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he has worked for the past 14 years. Neerav received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Delhi University, and migrated to the US to pursue an MBA in Finance from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Beth O’Toole, Clerk

Beth and her husband Tim have been a part of the BFCCPS community since 2012 when their oldest son Patrick entered Kindergarten. Brothers Colin and Liam happily joined the BFCCPS family in the subsequent years. Beth has been a member of the Board since 2015 and has served on both the Finance and HR committees.

Professionally, Beth is Director of Tax Accounting and Compliance Services at GagnonTax, a regional consulting firm in Boston. She’s an alumnae of UMass Amherst as well as Bentley University. In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Renée Blaine, Trustee 

Renee and her family have been part of the BFCCPS community since the fall of 2015. Renee lives in Franklin along with her husband Louie and their son Finn. Renee volunteered on the BFCCPS HR Committee during 2015-2016 academic year and became a member of the Board of Trustees in July 2016.

Renee is the owner of E Squared HR Solutions. As an HR Consultant, Renee works with small and mid-sized businesses across a variety of industries to design and implement comprehensive compensation, benefits and HR solutions.Renee has 18 years of experience as a human resources professional with progressive experience in corporate environments for public companies, most often technology companies. Her experience includes compensation and human resources roles at PTC, Genuity, Cambridge Technology Partners and USTrust Bank where she gained extensive experience with both domestic and international organizations.Renee received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Suffolk University. Jason Davis, Trustee

Jason Davis has lived in Franklin since 2005, and has been married to his wife Amy since 2011. He has two older daughters who went through the Franklin school system, and their daughter Audrey is starting BFCCPS in kindergarten this year. Jason holds a BA in computer science from Harvard University and an MS from the University of Texas at Austin. He co-founded a computer game company in the 90’s, and he has worked in industrial machine vision at Cognex in Natick since 2000. In his spare time he started a small business to design board games for kids and adults, plus he keeps thinking he’ll get into archery soon.

Jason Fine, Trustee 

Jason and his wife Jennifer have lived in Franklin since 2011 and joined the BFCCPS community in 2012 when their son Brody entered kindergarten. In addition to Brody, their younger son Wyatt joined the BFCCPS family in the Fall of 2016 as a kindergartener. After receiving a BS degree in American Labor History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Jason spent the first part of his career in the accounting & finance field before transitioning into human resources in 2000. Charles Kennedy, Trustee
Charlie and his wife Audra have resided in Wrentham since 2001. They have three children with the two youngest attending BFCCPS. Prior to joining the board, Charlie was a Selectman in Wrentham for two terms. During that time he was also on the board of the Massachusetts Selectman’s Association, Massachusetts Municipal Association and Local Government Advisory Commission.When not volunteering Charlie is the head of tax services at GT Reilly & Company, a regional CPA firm in Milton. Charlie holds a BS and MBA from Boston College and is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts. Ian MacDonald, Trustee

Ian and his wife Caitlin have lived in Franklin since 2010. They have three daughters, Riley, Lilly and Violet, and all three are students at BFCCPS. Originally from New Hampshire, Ian has worked in marketing within the banking industry for over 20 years. He is a currently a senior account director at EMI Strategic Marketing in Boston. Ian holds a BS in business administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire. Anne Marie Palmer, Trustee

Anne Marie is the Faculty Representative on the Board of Trustees. Anne Marie joined the BFCCPS faculty as a 3rd grade teacher in August of 2011, and became the Faculty Representative on the Board of Trustees in February of 2016. She has many years of teaching experience in grades K-5, and is very happy now teaching at BFCCPS. Residing in Mansfield, she has two college-attending daughters, as well as two dogs to keep her busy. In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, reading, and relaxing at the beach.

Lawrence Shum,  Trustee

Lawrence and his wife, Cindy, have lived in Franklin  since 2007.  They have a daughter, Zoe, who will be entering 1st grade at the BFCCPS in the fall of 2017 and a son, Zachary, who will be starting in the fall of 2019.  Lawrence volunteered in the BFCCPS Governance committee before becoming a Board of Trustee in 2018.

Lawrence graduated with a BA in chemistry from Boston University and received his MBA from Boston College.  He’s currently working as a senior chemist at Liberty Mutual Insurance at Hopkinton, MA.
