2014 & 2015 SupportMusic Merit Award from the NAMM Foundation : The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School has received the 2014 and 2015 SupportMusic Merit Award from the NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School joins schools across the country to receive the prestigious award. To qualify for the SupportMusic Merit Award, the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Institute for Educational Research and Public Service of Lawrence, Kansas, an affiliate of the University of Kansas.

For the 2012-2013 school year, Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School ranked #23 on their list of Top 100 Performing Public Schools in the Nation.
State and National School of Character: In 2011, the Character Education Partnership (CEP) named 44 schools throughout the country as National Schools of Character. We were selected as one of three charter schools in the nation and the only school in Massachusetts awarded this honor. The National School of Character is awarded to schools that demonstrate exemplary character education programs.
We were also recognized not only for our school-wide character education program, but for establishing a community culture in which character, community service and parental involvement is central to the academic success of the school. Not only do these programs enhance the educational program, they actually lead to heightened academic achievement.
Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America: In 2010, the Best Communities for Music Education recognition program celebrated the positive impact of music education on schools, students and communities. Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) is a nationwide search for communities whose programs exemplify a strong commitment to music education.
Established in 1998, BCME recognizes and celebrates schools, their administrators, teachers, board members, parents and students for their support and commitment to music education. The program also recognizes communities and schools that have diverse offerings for music learning which include music technology and innovative music education curricula.
Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Communities for Music Education in America as a result of our intensive music program. We are proud to have been named one of the 100 best communities for music education in 2010 for a third time.
