First graders and Mrs. Balcarek visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on Friday, December 4th. Students were led through the museum with a docent who helped them explore galleries and discuss art pieces. First graders had a chance to sketch and visit collections related to the curriculum such as the Egyptian collection and the art of Ellsworth Kelly in the contemporary gallery. We have a bright bunch of students who spotted the Renoir painting which they recognized from our art room poster. It was a wonderful time and as one student noted exiting the bus, “it was a good museum!”.
